If we beat Bama and Miami  we are in the conversation with being ranked and beating power conference  teams. We could go undefeated in aac play and lose to Bama and Miami then not get a playoff invite if liberty goes undefeated again. If you want to be with the best, you have to beat the best. The goal is to get national.relvance and eyes from the power conferences taking interest in usf. The rest of college football won't care if we beat aac teams, but they will talk about if usf upsets Bama and Miami.

A lot of ifs, but if we beat those teams we are so back.  But so far our bar is a QB-less Cuse.

If you go undefeated you get notice, no matter who you play.  But If we don't win the AAC we don't go to the playoffs...period.  Even if we beat UM and Bama.  that means we lose to AAC teams.   This is why the "to be the best" campaign is flawed.  It is better to be Liberty and go undefeated, get in the playoff/NY6 multiple years.  That is the way to relevance.  Yes if we go undefeated and they go undefeated with wins over Bama and UM we make it, but really the odds of that are not great

That Cuse game was pretty flawless though, comparatively speaking. Going into the season no one, but @Gatorbull325 could’ve predicted that outcome for our bowl game

It's very possible we drop multiple AAC games, but I am hoping we get a win against Bama or UM.  Of course I would rather win the conference.  I am just saying this is a tough conference schedule.

I don’t care what anyone says, that win over Cuse in a the bowl game should be a confidence booster for the team specifically the defense who was up & down throughout most of last season. I hope we see a step forward this season.

Better to be battle tested than crap the bed in a big bowl. I hope we can at least split the Bama/UM games. If this team comes together and plays up to their potential we could have a very good season on our hands

If we get that kind of defense every game yeah we would beat literally everyone.  

But the guy couldn't make any throws is all.  It's the same as if our D line improves this year, it's all exponential impact that ripples out on how the defense can play.
