I also think it looks stupid to talk about how our current conference is beneath us when we haven't been competitive in it.

I'd suggest people are looking at it more strategically than just wins and losses.  Even Wins don't guarantee anything.  We need to get out, regardless of our current record. With the changing landscape of CFB, there will be significant impacts to those left outside of the P5, regardless of whether they win 10 games every season or not.

We need to do a lot to escape, winning is one of them.

The problem with the Big East argument is that it is used by some to say "when we get into a big conference we will have support".  USF needs to leave the Big East days behind and support now.  Support against Tulsa, support against Rice.

The other problem with the Big East argument is when we first got into that big conference, we didn't average enough the first two years to fill our incoming ocs. Granted that times are different and I'm pretty confident we'll have enough fans who'll appreciate getting into a big conference a helluvalot more now than back then, so we should be good.

USF needs to show that we are excited about our program.  Not in money and facilities, but in fans.  P programs are not just going look at a nice new stadium and say "oh then, come on in". They want to see the excitement.  I know that winning solves a good deal of that, but man if there was ever a time to show out it is now.

I think if any P4 does their homework about USF fans "excitement", they're going to see what donations have done since MK came in. And even more importantly, it was done in the hands down, worst era of USF football. I think that's the only type of "excitement" a potential suitor would really care about from a fan standpoint .... it's all about the Benjamins.

If usf wants a better team and more people in the stands, Usf needs to win more games and play better teams consistently.

Absolutely.  While I do believe that we'd sell out if we had more interesting competition coming here to play us, I also think it looks stupid to talk about how our current conference is beneath us when we haven't been competitive in it.  Win games and compete for a conference title, and the fans will be there...and better conferences will notice us.  The only thing we can control is trying to WIN our way out.

The only thing we can control NOW is winning. We've pretty much already done everything else to get the P4's to notice .....winning certainly won't hurt but I really don't think it will be a driver like it was in 2021 call up.

Looks like someone sneezed and the mediation is now over.

Story about the mediation. FWIW, talks "continue."

The Seminoles and their conference met for court-ordered mediation last week.

Mediation is a powerful tool, but only when the parties are ready.   I think the Court ordered this too soon

Warchant's Jeff Cameron told On3's Andy Staples that FOX reportedly has interest in

“Really, it boils down to whether or not FOX or ESPN, in my opinion, decides that that’s an asset they would go after,” Cameron said. “I’ve heard rumors that certainly FOX would love to plant a flag in the SECs’ backyard or ESPN’s backyard, if you consider the SEC to be that. It would maybe be a wise move for them to do that, to go grab a Florida State and a Clemson. I don’t know who else is on the docket there, but certainly, those are the two that want out and they are making that known legally.

Other than that, there are rumors ESPN won't let them land with another network, that the Big 12 will use private equity to help them afford their ACC buyouts, and that the Noles are working on AAU accreditation to gain B1G acceptance. There are no such rumors about the Tigers.

Everything is on the table right now. FSU and Clemson's futures are as unclear as they've ever been.

Court-ordered mediation is standard practice in Florida civil cases. The timing of the mediation is based upon discovery timelines and anticipated/available trial dates. And the parties can settle at any time before or after the formal mediation takes place.
