Agree from a standpoint that Stanford and Cal end up in the B1G. If I were a betting man, by the end of the ACC deal in 2036 (aka the next 2 B1G deals), the B1G will add 3-4 schools in the South, then Stanford and Cal come 2036. Only 3-4 from the South because ND will always have right of first refusal. If they don't budge over the next 10 years, then add a fourth school in the South.

2036 predictions (you heard it here first):

FSU/Clemson (2030) + UNC/NCSt/UVA/VaTech/Duke/Kansas (2036) - SEC @ 24

USF/Miami/ND/GaTech/Stan/Cal - B1G @ 24

ACC/B12 probably combine in an east/west configuration. @ 24

SBC/AAC combine. MAC/CUSA combine. MWC/PAC2 merge and scoop up the remaining non-ACCB12 western teams.

6 conferences. 3 upper tier, 3 lower tier. 72/62 split of the teams, but 95/5 split of the money.

It stays like that for 10 years then implodes again to regional 10 member conferences once the streaming/sports media landscape has settled and there are significant opportunities beyond what exists today.

In other words, college football is going to be fine in the long run despite how crazy things have been. I agree that these power conferences will get too big  and then we will see a reset of it all to make all things better imo.

Assuming I last, 2036 would make me 76 years old. Just not sure how dedicated to college football I'll be.

I have heard that it is expandable but looking at the renderings I just can't see how.  Is it double decking the visitor side?

It's definitely on the visitors (north side).  From what I can see in the renderings, that side looks to be done in a very simplistic design, leaving room for modifications in the future (whether a second deck or a complete reimagining to allow two decks.

Seems to be a problem for those of us alive and in support of USF football since 1997 (or earlier).

Love the positivity but USF to the Big 10 is hilarious. Not happening. We can’t fill up Ray Jay when we have a winning squad - see 2016-2017. We have never sniffed a conference championship in football. Yes, we have AAU, research cred, big alumni base, etc. but the networks don’t care about that. The networks are shrinking the pie. The ship left when we were dropped off at AAC island in 2013.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
