Do we have a good amount of cfb viewership in the USF area?  It seems so.   Of course might be watching other teams.  But if we could get to a better conference and were featured OTA...

That is from 2014. Do we have an updated map?

If you look at the methodology, the data are based on Facebook likes for each team.  Probably a UCF student that submitted that as 'research'.

"...the data is a reflection of the number of people in a given county who "like" a college football page on Facebook."

The West Coast would have way less viewership considering the mass exodus of residents to Florida and Texas. Texas and Florida have schools  in three fourths of the power conferences. I would assume Texas and the Southern part of the country would have significantly higher tv ratings than from a decade ago.

Fans who can't go to the games for health reasons and watch at home, people who don't have a Facebook page (like me),...we could all probably name a bunch of mitigating variables that destroy that as a valid criterion.  Facebook likes indicate viewership?  Bad science.

Fly over states with not much to do. Makes sense.

Kind of like West Virginia and their fans. When you're the only game in town, you get the love.  Nebraska is it, end of story. Only game in town. Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont? North Dakota? Not the most populous places in the US of A and the university sizes reflect that. Remember kids, there are actually people who pay to see Bates College in Maine football. Not me, of course, but someone does.

And I'm just not sold on the Facebook-likes-college-football-interest correlation. Every time I've gone to Barnes & Noble to buy a Facebook, they're always sold out. 🤨

The ACC found itself in third place for revenue generation last year, earning $707 million but with football being the main money maker, the lack of National Championships in recent years is creating a burden.

Interesting spin on this. The ACC has won 3 National Championships in the last 11 seasons, which is more than the B1G (2) and Big XII (0) combined.

I fully expect USF to eventually help ACC by winning the NC…

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
