Or, it could be a pre-emptive move, just laying the groundwork, given that the P-Deux already has plans to exclude the G5 out of the future sixteen team playoff (dammit, did I say that out loud or just think it?). It might be, in the grand philosophical sense, 'also ran', but it would be another revenue stream and provide ESPN and maybe another media entity the opportunity to fill hours of needed broadcast material. And seriously, who doesn't love bettin' on brackets. 

At what point is there the realization that G5 inclusion is not about 'having a chance' at a championship so much as a mandatory, under the current governance, check-a-box compliance option. Does anyone honest-to-god believe that the twelve seed (or lower once the playoff is expanded) has a snowball's chance in hell of knocking off - in consecutive weeks - P-Deux championship level teams? It ain't like playing Vandy or South Carolina or Indiana where a win would be 'yay! We got a win over a P-Deux team!!!'.

That's just crazy. And firing Sam Ponder too? That old coot Finebaum should have been the one fired.

Yeah but the reality is that that will keep that SEC talking head around a little longer until they lose their SEC contract lol

I first became aware of him when that guy killed the Auburn trees and they were playing the insane people that would call his show.  I guess I'm glad I got to tour the Auburn campus before that.  Toomer's corner?
