The first step was you could legally pay players to play for your program.  The next step you can buy teams for your conference with private equity. What is the third and final step before it all comes crashing down?

The loss of carriage fees and the pricing structure of streaming.  Will compensation be by market size or by subscriber count?  Will the winners of that question be willing to subsidize the other schools?  Or are we starting an episode of "Realignment Survivor" replete with alliances and treachery?

Whatever it is - I hope it happens soon and blows the whole stupid thing up.  Let's start from scratch and structure it regionally.

Yes but I think the money came from smu that was donated to them by boosters.  I puld think selling your rights to private equity means they own a share of the product and share profits . I don't think it is is that much different, but are the private equity  profits coming from tv contract, ticket sales, and merchandise  sales?

Am I the only one who hears foreign "private equity" and hears Saudi Arabia and China? 

As if College Football isn't already dysfunctional, we are to going to insert this guy?
