Exactly ...

I am fine with them taking liberties with the truth, we all want to be entertained and it was entertaining.  I just felt the story was rather pathetic, he was a charity case and he should feel embarrassed IMHO.

It's a movie lol.  You have to make decisions to add drama.

that movie ( Rudy) was my first intro to US College football culture  still living in Belgium.  US College lifestyle, parties, and college sports was something I wanted to be part of. Never thought that 15 years later I would be celebrating a win by my team at Notre Dame.

That movie, and also "Animal House".

Movies are very much like books. It's not a question of "is this a good book", it's a question of "will anyone buy this book"? Do we want to make a movie about the underdog, or is there enough material to make a documentary? Let's go the movie route. The kids will love it, and they're not gonna get all caught up in this factual stuff.

“Rudy” was actually based on my life and the struggles I experienced between USF St. Pete and USF Tampa. I persevered and life worked out accordingly. I can’t help but think back on those struggles though.
