What constitutes 'big TV market' in 2024? I would think national branding would be more relevant than the population count in surrounding area, as is the case with Columbus, Ohio. TV markets are important when it comes to commercial placement (shotgun approach), but for football, it's the product (brand) that sells. I agree that U of SF is probably on the 'second tier' callup list when it comes to departure, but UF/FSU/UM are in line in front of us, as is.

I have no doubt we are "on the B1G's radar", but that's because their first search parameters are "AAU". I think there will still be a few schools ahead of us, including SEC schools, that they will reach for first.

The wheel of college football realignment continues to turn and the latest rumor that is out there involves Texas A&M possibly heading to the Big 10. This move would give the conference inroads into Texas and the southern United States after expanding to the West Coast with the additions of USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington.

The question is would this be good or bad for our bulls? Aau is one of the things that makes us attractive, but fsu joining might get them in the b1g…which  should get us an acc invite…

I'd say irrelevant. I have no reason to believe that the FSU brand compared to the USF brand did not always weigh more heavily than the AAU accreditation.  It is not beyond the pale to think that even serious intent to obtain accreditation could serve as almost a waiver type of status. If Nebraska isn't going to get the heave-ho for losing accreditation, I see no reason why membership with intent-to-obtain is any less acceptable. Where there's a will, there's a way...

As for U of SF? The next phone call will be from the back-fill office, conference TBD.

a&m doing everything they can to get away from texas.

Add them and FSU then you might have the super conference.

I think Texas is still the bigger brand than A&M.

Let’s say, FSU and A&M go B1G and UNC and “insert ACC team” go SEC.

Kansas, also AAU a big basketball brand and the number one school in that state. They could go B1G as well.

ACC is three teams down, I would like to see USF, UConn, TTech, SDSU, Colorado, Arizona pulled into that conference. Will that happen? Absolutely not, but my sources tell me it might.

B12 pulls from AAC, MWC, and PAC2 leftovers. Tulane, Memphis, Ore State, Wash state, Boise State,  CState, UNLV.

AAC and MWC form best of rest G5.

As weird as it is for the West Coast teams to be listed as a B1G member, TAMU, or any "southern" team, sounds even weirder even if closer ....

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
