USF & Tampa Bay is too important to not include in the upcoming college football landscape. I am resting much easier these days than I was just a few years ago

They actually only stopped playing for 2 years. Death penalty was just for 1 but the damage it did to their program made them shut it down for a 2nd season in a row in order to get the rebuild going properly. But they were pretty bad the next 20 years so your statement isn't that far off lol

They didn't get out because they won .... last year was the first conf championship they've won since they rose form the dead.

There are many major athletics programs in this country - but you can really tell when the administration of the school is hellbent on supporting athletics. For the first time in USF's history, I think we belong in that club now. Other schools have been there for over 100 years, and over the next 5-10-20-30 years, I think USF will emerge into the same sentences and onto the same playing surfaces as them if we continue on this path of investment and buy-in. Look at FSU today. That's the level of athletic capabilities and resources I think we will have 20-30 years from now if the current administration and their priorities remain at USF for the long-term. We will easily leapfrog any "P5" program who does not have a similar buy-in at the top of their schools like Wake, BC, Cal, Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota, Rutgers, maybe even WVU and Miami. Schools like c and Cinci have already done this. It will be fun to watch other programs who have reignited their athletics department - schools like Syracuse, SMU, and even Memphis - to see how competitive they can be over the same time frame.

Whats their win percentage in the aac? I bet it is higher than usf. I don't recall them not winning any conference games or one fbs win in three seasons. I think they have been more sucessful in the AAC games and out of conference games.
