This is not an official stance of the B12, just a natural extension of the dog eat dog environment we are in where the world is full of amateur ADs.  The ACC is not innocent in all of this, just the latest victim - if they are a victim at all.

I am starting to think that FSU and Clemson might get a better deal if they stay in the ACC.  Any new additions to a league have to justify their invitation with a significant financial windfall for the rest of the conference (otherwise they conference has to share the pie with a team out of the goodness of their hearts).

USF does not offer such a windfall at present. When we get invited to a league it will be to backfill the departure of a bigger program to a more lucrative league.  Even though we will provide a level of stability, we will be resented by our new mates who will be eyeing the door.

That being said, I am bullish on USF's future.  We need to create an environment where we grow our fanbase (OCS helps) and become the dominate team in the AAC.

Of all the crazy Big12 plans I have heard online. The one that stated that the Big12 would pay 6 billion to ACC from PE money to take ACC’s top 8 programs tops them all.

Do this people think PE money is just falling from Heaven unlimited and without any repercussions?

Any university willing to go to a Conference that would be 6 billion in the hole to a PE should lose it’s academic license

Exactly! Basically they are playing with fire by showing other members that the ACC schools are more important than some of their current members. Those big 12 schools will eventually look for a new home imo

So his idea is to disband the Big 12 and form the new Allstate 20 Conference (as a legal entity).

Under the current rules, new conferences need to be approved by the NCAA.  That could change with the "Project Division I" discussions that are taking place.

Could also be quite expensive.  Teams have not been purged in a really long time.  Even when the Big East "kicked out" Temple, they really just required a certain attendance level and Temple failed to meet it.
