Yeah, but they don't have to. All they have to do is keep transmitting to keep the channel open. It can be a series of numbers, just reading poetry, or quoting Greek philosophers...anything as long as there's a posted presence every twelve hours. Once the whip comes down, nobody is gonna get called on their previous postings.

This is infuriating.  How much money do they need?  Remember when the B12 dipped down so low in numbers they had to petition for a conference championship game with less than 12 members.  It's a monopoly.

The wheat has separated from the chaff. This is a game of elite two conference separating from the poors like us. It all started with the killing off of the Big East. The ACC will be poached in due time and it will collapse just like the PAC 12. The end goal (driven by the media conglomerates) is one league with the top 40-50 colleges. ESPN and Fox don’t want to give hand outs to the poors anymore. Sankey just doesn’t want to say it out loud.

No reason to. Actions speak louder than words.

There is also a limited number of viewers and TV prime time slots.

Networks can’t keep just paying more money to for the same schools without viewership increasing to justify it.

is FSU in the big10 or SEC really going to increase viewership much above where it already is?

I think so, but I don’t know where that line is. Personally, I’d watch FSU play some of the conference matchups in the SEC or B1G. I rarely watch their ACC games besides Clemson recently. I’d imagine lots of others feel the same.

I mean, the ACC/ESPN deal is pretty dated and was too long, which is a big reason they’re behind the other conferences with newer deals.

As companies still want to add sports programming to their services, particularly the big tech firms, there’s a non-zero chance that simply due to inflation that someone pays _more_ than the current deal. Right?

Other than inflation why else did the B12 get its landmark deal? It’s not really comparable to the current roster of ACC.

I’m not suggesting the odds of that are high with a loss of, say Clemson/FSU, but stranger things have happened, right?

Longtime college football radio host Greg Swaim believes the only reason Vanderbilt, Rutgers, and Wake Forest are going to stick with the Power 4 is because of

As HERO Sports' Colton Pool writes, relegation could be a result for several ACC schools if/when the Noles and Tigers move on from the conference.

"(FSU and Clemson) could come up with the financial means to separate from the ACC, or perhaps all parties involved come to an amicable solution which means those two programs can seek a new conference," Pool prefaced before saying, "But if that did happen, the ACC would be losing arguably its two most valuable members when it comes to college football. And like what happened with the Pac-12, some big-name schools leaving could lead to several others wanting out as well.

"For the sake of the Group of Five, if the ACC were to completely dissolve, it’s not impossible some programs are left behind by the power leagues. Perhaps the AAC or the Sun Belt figure out an arrangement with leftover ACC teams."

Poor MAC not even mentioned.

I would take Cuse, BC, and Ga Tech into the AAC

Indicated could be so many things to. Like did they do a secret handshake that this guy witnessed? So many things could be misconstrued.

FSU will go independent, before joining the Big 12.

They are actually the perfect kind of football program that could exist and possibly even thrive as an independent.

No. If the B12 ends up the only game in town(which i doubt) they will join.  They would want $$ and playoff access. Scheduling is incredibly difficult as an independent too. ND is the only one to pull it off and with all the changes i think next round they will join a P2.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
