And most of those mid-westerners are gonna move to the FL gulf coast someday if they haven't already.  Would give some of of the retired snowbirds a chance to see their alma mater play in Tampa every so often.  It really almost makes sense.

Excellent point. Tampa would become the B1G HQ in the Southeast. No one wants to drive to Tallanasty.

We also wouldn't be a toxic member that thinks our **** doesn't stink like FSU and even central. I almost feel bad for Big 12 fans that now have to deal with knats. We'd be the most grateful and cooperative member of the B1G. central probably could've been considered, because of Orlando, but alas, they are not AAU. Also, Tampa is a larger TV designated market area.

B1G doesn't need Tampa/USF, but it could very well want it.

Looks like FSU’s whining about missing the playoffs set them back….

Today's FSU admin should have listened to what Bobby had to say in 2015:

And when it comes to radar, are we talking that ground surveillance radar from the Army or are we talking Lockheed's SPACE FENCE? If it's SPACE FENCE, Plant High School might be 'on the radar'😲

It's interesting to look at both the SEC & B1G winning percentages, compared to ours. We're at 51.2%, regular season, all time, which would put USF on par with Mississippi State, South Carolina, Kentucky & Vanderbilt in the SEC and Purdue, Illinois, Rutgers, Northwestern and Indiana in the B1G.

I think you explained a lot with the SEC part. While we were losing half our games to Rutgers, ECU, etc they were losing their games to 'bama, LSU, etc.

Haha! Just to clarify for everyone, Sankey is not confusing them with central, but astutely pointing out the comparison. There were a ton of articles saying that FSU had a claim to hang National Title banners, if they went undefeated. Problem is that Georgia shellacked the **** out of them, so they never had a chance to claim their Knatty a la central.

Florida State football still could claim to be No. 1. Here's how

If FSU is the lone remaining undefeated P5 team at the end of the playoffs, there is an avenue to landing at the top of at least one poll. And that would give the university every right to hang that banner, receive the key to the city of Tallahassee and even pull a UCF and be honored at a parade down Main Street at Disney World. Well, maybe not that last one.

"I could definitely see that happening," tight end Kyle Morlock said.

"Absolutely," third-team-turned-starting-QB Brock Glenn said.

Brock Glenn Thinks FSU Should 'Absolutely' Be National Champions If Seminoles Finish Undefeated

Linebacker Kalen DeLoach agreed with Glenn's statement.

"It's only right," DeLoach said. "Nothing else needs to be said if we're the only undefeated team."

The people's champ: How FSU can turn unprecedented playoff negative into historic positive

One is the Colley Matrix, a mathematical ranking system devised by Dr. Wesley Colley, an astrophysicist based in Huntsville, Ala. It ranked UCF No. 1 at the end of the 2017 season, and the Knights used that to legitimize their claim as national champ.

The difference is nobody took UCF seriously. It played in the AAC, which even the ACC looks down on.

The Knights beat a disinterested Auburn team in the Peach Bowl to finish 13-0. Then they printed up national championship T-shirts, threw a parade, became terribly annoying and turned it all into a marketing tool.

Nobody is annoyed at the Seminoles. If anything, their treatment by the CFP has raised their stature.

...

What we have here is a perfect storm of football populism that FSU can ride into history. All it has to do is beat the Bulldogs (note to Kirby Smart: please start your third-team defense), finish 14-0, throw a parade and declare yourself the national champion.

Will Florida State claim national championship if Seminoles beat Georgia in Orange Bowl?

UCF athletic director Danny White claimed a national championship for the school that season. So, yeah, Florida State can claim a national title for itself. This is college football, after all. Will anybody recognize it?

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
