Reading some wild theories that are out there about FOX and ESPN working together to consolidate.

They probably see that their bubble is about to burst.

There was talk earlier this year when ESPN, Fox and Warner announced the Venu streaming app, that the joint effort could be a precursor to something bigger.  However, some (including, as I recall, a Forbes article) questioned if that might actually complicate future merger or joint venture opportunities.

I've said it does not make sense for the SEC to add FSU because ESPN would have to shell out more money for it. I know @Jim Johnson stated that would be the only reason for FSU to head to the SEC and I would agree with it even though it does not make financial sense.

I would have to think the B1G would want to be be in the Southeast at some point in time. It makes too much sense for them, especially with all of the alumni that they have living in this region.

A disruptive partner, ouch. USF to the B10 is, in my opinion, a better match due to the American University’s Accreditation. If B10 is still about academics, USF is light years ahead of FSU. People need to see USF through new optics. We are no longer a commuter school. We have good student athletes and the receipts to show. GO BULLS.

The only reason for ESPN to pay more is to keep FSU off of the Fox airways, pure and simple.

Brings up the question of are they willing to do that.

FSU is a big enough brand.

Inded... but only if the B1G is willing to invite them.  It could just be a game of chicken to see who blinks first.

And neither side will blink while there is pending litigation.

I'd think it would be more financially beneficial for the B1G,

Agreed about the litigation.
