If I recall correctly, didn't ESPN pay the big12 millions of dollars not to expand during the 2016 expansion rumors. No doubt they drive the bus.

They are like Coach T in that sense.

ESPN has been at the center of/behind all major college football realignment moves starting with the collapse of the Big East.

Not really, Fox and ESPN both agreed to a pro-rata share for the addition of the Four Corners schools.  But that was the most they would support pro-rata.

t seems that FSU (dunno about anyone else in the ACC) is putting a ton of effort forward to get to the P2.

Going to the Big12 (even with preferential media treatment) -- still sits them behind Oregon, Texas, OU, and UCLA.

Yep, for both Clemson & FSU, all that matters is SEC/B1G membership. Not the Big XII nor continued presence in the ACC. Just 'getting out' of the ACC is not beneficial in the big revenue sense of the word, given that there's still a gulf between P-Deux and everyone else.

I can see FSU/Clemson going to the B12 right after USF receives its NFL invite.

Yeah. They should probably backfill with more teams, if they lose two teams.

You know what the SEC could really use?

a 4th Tigers team. That will help.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
