Can someone explain to me how rumors of FSU and Clemson going to the B12 puts pressure on Louisville and Miami? I’m not following the high-level moves being made.

Being left behind while your mates are earning significantly more money in the B12.  Let's say there's a limit to the lifeboats out of a sinking ship.  Get on now or perish.

Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark addresses the potential of possibly adding more teams to the conference in the future.

Yormark explained. “We got a lot of growth ahead of us, a lot of potential and I want to push forward and realize that. But if an opportunity presents itself to strengthen this conference, for all the right reasons, we’ve got to pursue it.”

I think it's more along the lines of "they won't even pick up our calls, how can we at least get them to hold a discussion with us?"  If Louisville and Miami think there's even a shred of opportunity that FSU/Clemson are going to the 12, then maybe they'd be interested in tagging along.

Makes sense... if you're talking about schools in the American. But the ACC schools make similar money to the B12?
