FSU going to Big 12 is acquiescing to Tier 2 status. Don’t see it happening.

Yes, they are better off going independent.

FSU's busting its tail to get out of a conference/media entanglement with the ACC... only to jump ship to the Big 12 and enter another conference/media entanglement? FSU wants to be available - no strings attached - when the P2 come calling. That's its true home. I agree it would be better for them to deal with the financial/scheduling hassle of going independent a few years while they resolve things with the ACC, than join the Big 12 on a 99-year contract. Once the ACC litigation is resolved I promise you the B1G and the SEC will come calling. Maybe things are a little too messy for them to get involved right now.

The Big 12 commissioner said his league is among the top three...

This reminds me of the AAC/MWC debates about who's the best G5 conference ....

Voodoo 5 is not what lost us that game. The play before that did.

Dellenger, a senior college football reporter with Yahoo Sports, said he thinks the Seminoles and Tigers are considering the Big 12 as a fallback if none of their preferred scenarios come to fruition.  “The first option would probably be to get into the Big Ten or SEC,” Dellenger said. “The second option would be in some way to reform the ACC with a smaller number of teams. Where you would be in a financial advantage because you wouldn’t split the distribution, the TV distribution, with 18 [schools]. Maybe you would just split it with 10. So they could reform in a smaller group. “And option three is to probably join another league. Which would obviously be … there’s only one other Power conference league, and that’s the Big 12.”

This may top the dumbest realignment post (Twitter guy, not you @Cat941) I've seen around these parts.

FSU couldn't even prevent the ACC from adding Cal, Stanford, and SMU, but we're supposed to consider option 2 (kicking out 8 teams) viable? And apparently more viable than joining the Big 12, which is option 3?
