I have always believed that FSU is NOT B1G material. They are not AAU and they run a very dirty program.

Sounds like Big12 material ....

Yep, but as a fan, the money makes little difference to me. Give me a road trip to GT, Duke or Wake over Kansas State, Baylor or Iowa State any day.

Give me the one that puts us in the best position to win a national championship.

Think we will start seeing USF compete for a national championship soon…

Well then, you should stay in G5land. Guaranteed strategy is as outlined below:

a) phenomenal coaching, recruiting & portal utility to ensure highest ranked G5 position...

b) roster includes both talent and coaching necessary to upset seeded opponent in playoff...

c) win playoff games over P(x) opponents, garnering both national title and national acclaim.

In secret talks with that football juggernaut, the Flaming Liberty Flames, they revealed that one key to success is to always ensure you have a marshmallow schedule that allows you to go, technically speaking, undefeated.  The alternative, membership in a P(x) conference and all of that money management icky stuff that we had to go over in the U of SF Business Bunker is just too arduous. ABC: Always Be Conniving.

I remember walking to class in a torrential downpour from Magnolia to the Business bunker. As soon as I walked in the professor said “I don’t feel like teaching today, class is cancelled.

So what league is the sweet spot for both these scenarios?

I personally, have zero interest in playing the remaining B12 schools (although I would jump off offered and I'm sure I could grow to appreciate them).

I think a gutted ACC is still preferable.  It feels a lot like rejoining the Big East without the basketball only schools which were problematic. Added bonus if we started a lacrosse program.

If we do we'll there it would position us for a future G2 when things deteriorate.  Call it the "Legolas Strategy".

I assume you meant men's lacrosse.

But I have to wonder if joining the ACC means more sports... Field Hockey, Fencing, Wrestling, Gymnastics, Swimming & Diving, and Women's Rowing are all in the conference, but not all schools offer them.

I'd assume joining the ACC would mean adding a sport or two - they sponsor the most sports out of any conference so I'd assume their minimum requirement is higher than what we currently sponsor. Could easily be wrong. I saw a post a couple weeks ago talking about Georgia Tech does the absolute bear minimum for sports requirements in the ACC so any additional dollar beyond that can go to their core sports, which is a good theory. I think a lot of schools will start dropping sports to do this as well with the schools paying players coming to fruition.
