If USF gets an invite, what kind of discount are we looking at? Obviously anything better than $7M a year seems good.

As long as it scales up and we can pay coaches for a while.  The whole system will implode at some point?

USA Today's Blake Toppmeyer implied that Duke and UNC could be a package deal in the next round of conference realignment -- and believes that Duke basketball would be "jet fuel" for the SEC, which hasn't had a national champion in 12 years.

"I've previously suggested other schools as the fourth ACC target for the SEC," Toppmeyer prefaced before saying, "However, upon reconsideration, I think the SEC should just go for this basketball blue blood if it wants to reach 20. Assuming the SEC could get UNC, adding Duke would preserve college basketball's top rivalry. Plus, men's basketball is one of the few sports the SEC doesn't rule. The SEC hasn't produced a men's hoops national champion since the 2012 Kentucky Wildcats. Duke would be basketball jet fuel."

There's no wrong choice for the Tar Heels, and that's the best place to be as a Power 4 program in 2024. Not every school has those options or the chance to build their brand no matter what's next.

Wherever UNC goes, it may diverge from Clemson and FSU, which feel like a package deal in conference in realignment.

Charlotte is also ACC Network headquarters. Basically it is another ESPN college sports headquarters

So, I hear, through a very credible grapevine, the denial of the ACC's motion(s) to dismiss concerned several ACC schools enough to motivate them to take the first step in the contingency plans they drafted when it became clear Clemson & FSU wanted out.

This posts are just dumb. What do you call adding SMU, Cal and Stanford?

As soon as FSU and Clemson sued the ACC they were gone.

Those schools need better attorneys if their decision makers were under the belief that the ACC’s motion had more than a snowball’s chance in hell of being granted in Leon County. It’s more likely the schools have competent attorneys, and this tweet is made up.
