I wonder if that, as a provision of FSU gets invited to the B1G, they would get a smaller cut until AAU status is achieved? That might placate those in the league with reservations (no pun intended).

Sure, why not. The B1G could make an accommodation for FSU if it wanted to.

We might not be competitive for a while, but it would be better in the long run for the school and the overall health of the program. So a good problem to have.

Leapfrogging the school down the street, and putting us on the same level as UF, FSU, and UM, would be a dream come true.

Yes I think the academics are a thin veneer at this point.  This could give them cover to poach.

Bingo! And for fun all we have to do is go back about a year to see how unclear USF’s future was at that time. Now with the homerun hires in the revenue sports, USF is pretty much one of the top candidates to get the call up to the so  called power conferences. USF is finally figuring it all out imo
