I am already thinking about the opening game.  Can't wait.  Our OCS is evidence of our commitment to athletics, for the almuni and students.  My youngest starts this fall at USF, so I am planning to get season tickets and witness this accomplishment.

Imagine if UM dropped football and FSU goes SEC.
 

Would we want to go to that ACC? Would we be the Florida team for the B1G? Would FAU pass us up as the next team given their proximity to those Miami recruits?

There's the possibility of FSU to the B1G, Miami staying in the ACC, UCF in the B12 and UF in the SEC.  Which conference wants to double down on FL and include us?

I'm going to go out on a limb here (not really) and say that without sports, the "boosters" would basically disappear. I like education and all, but "Go Science Department!" probably won't excite people enough to fork over a bunch of money to the school.

But what if "when we reach our potential" never happens?

Turning to PE just seems super-risky to me. But I couldn't think of a better conference to take that risk. They'll get what they deserve.

I would still want to go to that ACC, yes. Yes, to the second question. I could see FAU going to the Big 12 in that scenario. Idk how close they are to being AAU.

The list will always be (for me) SEC > B1G > ACC > B12. The SEC is not going to happen unless something drastic for USF athletics happens over the next 10 - 15 years. The B1G is slightly higher chances, but only if FSU goes to the SEC and something drastic happens over the next 5-10 years. The ACC seems like a no-brainer, as soon as FSU leaves, and we will still need to perform over the next 2-5 years to be invited. The B12 makes a lot of sense as a travel partner for c, but imo should only be accepted if that's our only offer. 

Currently, we don't have an invite to any of them, much less more than one. So, beggars can't be choosers. Keep investing, show up, support, donate to USF and NIL, and win. That's all we have control over. 

EDIT: We have more value to the B1G than to the SEC, and can totally fit into that conference similarly to Maryland/Rutgers. Win the conference, make the playoff, beat a big-name school in said playoff, make the tournament in basketball, build the OCS, and I think we will definitely be seen similar to a Utah or TCU in value.
