Nobody ever, every man for themselves,  I do find it humorous when some are surprised by any of this.  If we can’t get in a better conference then I hope the whole thing crashes and burns, if we can’t get ours then **** everyone else, the true American spirit.

It's very easy to make people accept things.  You just say you have to do this because things are getting worse.  Then things get worse and then you tell them they need to do the next thing.  Pumping more and more detached money in isn't going to fix things.

I don't understand the PE play for the conference. PE needs their return on capital. What is the exit? Another PE firm? Family office? Public? Can conferences go public? Do they sell their stake to the first available media empire willing to acquire in 5-10 years? Also, any distributions from the buy-in will be temporary (going to NIL or the schools, wherever), the payout to the firm will probably offset those additions? So, upfront capital to fund NIL, with long-term payments at an IRR in the 20% range to the fund? How much % of revenue will that need to be? I guess it can work but ultimately the PE share of the conference revenue WILL shrink the college's individual distributions. Guess the risk is in the next TV deal being able to increase (with schools taking a similar payout now to pay the fund manager their share). 

Anyone else read this differently?

Probably seeing it to the Saudis, they start their own College league to rival the NCAA, then a merger is forced when their product rivals NCAA but the oil money is better.

Since he's a WVU guy my money is on his choice of 4 remaining ACC teams that the P2 don't take.
