One?

He owes us a  one power5 recommendation for an invite .  HE was smart to leave before Flowers graduated.  He got Utah back to a top 10-25 program consistently and in a power conference.

Utah’s long-time head coach, Kyle Whittingham, got them there.

So basically the census is becoming more clear that USF is heading to the ACC. Already have the ACCN so that is good.

Question about ACCN, if I had a subscription; could I share the account with my family that lives about an hour and a half away? Or do they crackdown like Netflix does?

ACCN is included with 'sports pack' via cable & streaming services, not a stand-alone app. There is no "login", only another channel in your lineup to choose from, like ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN U, etc.

Hmm, I wonder if I have this with YouTube TV?

Also, how is it not its own service? I guess the tv contract is guaranteed money and the streaming service is a crapshoot.

ESPN is working hard to ensure that ACCN is broadly available via pay-TV video providers nationwide. Carriage agreements are already in place with the following providers: AT&T TV Now, AT&T U-Verse, Cox, DIRECTV, DISH, Google Fiber, Hulu Live TV, TVision, Optimum, PlayStation Vue, SlingTV, Spectrum TV, Suddenlink, Verizon Fios and YouTube TV, as well as many others.

Two fun ideas I had re: conference realignment and the thought of "what would be the best conference for USF"? USF is so young we don't really have history with anyone. c is probably our strongest rivalry, and definitely closest competitor, so have to think they would be included, but adding many beyond that makes it really difficult trying to put together what the "best" for us would be. I think obviously SEC v2 or some variation of that would be the most preferred given today's landscape, but would some conference affiliation with other academic-heavy institutions be better? What about travel? Who would want a Metro, but national? Including schools in LA, Seattle, Austin, Phoenix, SLC, etc.?

SEC v2. Qualifications: large public schools south of the Mason Dixon and east of Texas/Oklahoma. Total: 18 schools, 3 pods of 6

USF/c/FSU/UF/UGA/GaTech

Clem/USCe/NCSt/UNC/Tenn/Memphis

Alabama/Auburn/Ole Miss/Miss St./LSU/Arky

Metro v2. Qualifications: public and private universities located in large metros (or very close). Total: 18 schools, split pub/priv

Public: USF/c/GaTech/NCSt/Pitt/Cinci/Louisville/Memphis/Houston

Private: Miami/Rice/TCU/SMU/Vandy/Wake/Duke/Tulane/Northwestern

If the B12 and ACC could become “trade” partners, I would think a WVU, UCF and Cincy for Cal, Stanford and SMU would be perfect with USF filling in for FSU and then just add UCONN. I believe from an academic and athletic standpoint, USF and the ACC are perfect for each other.

The proposed deal with a Luxembourg-based firm would bring a massive influx of cash to the league

Big 12 teams are currently earning $31.7 million each with Fox and ESPN in a media rights deal that ends in 2031. Add in the cash infusion from private equity, and the two revenue streams would combine to move the Big 12  "much closer" to the Big Ten media rights deal, according to a person with intimate knowledge of the proposal.

What could go wrong?

The Big12 can shoot their shot, but woo boy I'm glad USF isn't involved.

I wonder what Utah thinks of this?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
