That would give them 19 football and 20 all sports. With a Western Wing of 4-5 schools.

Will it happen, probably not, but of those three scenarios I think

#1 Will happen, probably no later than next year

#2 Highly likely, question will be what’s the financials there

#3 All except for Utah would gladly come, UConn might waver since they are protecting basketball.

The bigger question I think is UNC, If the Tar Heels stay then they probably limit loses.

 

I hope they at Tulane before SDSU .

Here's my take (and wishes) for a 20 team ACC (American Coastal Conference) to be realized in the next 5 years.  For football, you play 9 conference games - 4 vs your pod mates each year plus 5 games rotating through the other pods every 3 years.  Conference championship is between 2 best conference records with the normal tiebreakers.

So basically the census is becoming more clear that USF is heading to the ACC. Already have the ACCN so that is good.

Two fun ideas I had re: conference realignment and the thought of "what would be the best conference for USF"? USF is so young we don't really have history with anyone. c is probably our strongest rivalry, and definitely closest competitor, so have to think they would be included, but adding many beyond that makes it really difficult trying to put together what the "best" for us would be. I think obviously SEC v2 or some variation of that would be the most preferred given today's landscape, but would some conference affiliation with other academic-heavy institutions be better? What about travel? Who would want a Metro, but national? Including schools in LA, Seattle, Austin, Phoenix, SLC, etc.?

Why would the SEC  kick out OK and Texas? No way they are kicking out Vandy for Memphis and USF. Ok an Texas are two huge programs with big TV numbers.
