I thought there were survivors from the Titanic, Trip, anybody you know?

There were, which means they weren't on the ship when it sank ......... ex-girlfriend.

Yeah but I’m not convinced that SEC is going to let the Big Ten grab FSU. Kind of a territorial thing so I expect FSU to eventually get an invite from the SEC. FSU would probably prefer the SEC over Big Ten as that is less travel.

FSU to the SEC is a more natural fit... Miami to the B1G (or stay in the ACC) makes more sense.

It's bad for us for Miami (or any ACC team) to go to the Big12.

Miami’s academics are no better than USFs and our team grade point averages would shatter anything they got. They are living on past laurals.

I would not be surprised if Big Ten invited Miami & GT.  I don’t really see any ACC school interested in joining a western big 12 conference.

If the ACC was smart, the would try and get Utah abd WVU to join the ACC.  That would cripple the Big 12s claims about the ACC.

We'll have to see how the conversations with the networks are going. FOX wants FSU, which is why I think they will be able to receive an invite without AAU status. There's no question they'd rather be in the SEC. The SEC doesn't "need" FSU, but I do think it will be better long term for both parties. The ACC still doesn't see WVU as a peer due to their academics, but if ESPN wills it then I think they will get the invite. There are rumors right now the football schools (FSU/Clemson + others) are pushing for football additions, Utah being the primary candidate right now because they are not bound to the B12 as heavily as the others. WVU, and other B12 properties, are probably not moving until the end of the current TV contract closer to 2030.

Goes on to say:

Kansas fan "Jhawkinva" [Jayhawk in Virginia] then added:

The ACC and Big 12 share in the same predicament.

Neither is attractive enough to pay exit fees / settlement money to go to the other.

If the ACC manages to keep their membership, then they will eventually raid the Big 12.

But if mass defections hit the ACC, the Big 12 will raid the ACC.

No big state schools want to be left holding the bag with smaller private schools that don't draw.
