My god, I was listening to a what if scenario for the ACC imploding.

This particular person listed Duke, UNC, FSU, and Clemson going to both B10 and  SEC. Then stated that NC State, UL would be in the SEC.

You could legit ask these guys one question about ACC, and then let them talk themselves into a knot.

SEC will not want NC State.  That is my take.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe, UL; but I see them B12 if ACC ceases to be.

Tech doesn’t get any love in Georgia

True which is sad, but I think GT is on the upswing.

He wasn't a Bull at heart even when he was here.

He had the famous alleged "Harlan Conversation" with Willie T.

If Harlan and Judy save Bulls football along with MK, would we all open a new inner consciousness?

Tech is very similar to USF - far more focus on the academics. I think with a push for athletics, they can easily compete in sports across the board on a national level. The quality of football recruits coming out of Georgia is on Florida/California level, there is just fewer of them. If they can recruit them? Watch out.

Also, high school football coaches in Georgia make like $125k/year and do not have to teach, which is crazy to think about. They're practically low-a from a baseball perspective with regards to how professional they take it. Growing up in Florida, our football coaches all had to be teachers I think.

I don’t see the ACC imploding. Most of those repeating this, are B12 homers that think that by eliminating the ACC, then the B12 as #3 will get closer to P2.

Most point at the PAC, but the reality is that the ACC situation and PAC are completely different.

The PAC had no media contract. The ACC does and it’s ACC network is profitable for both the conference and ESPN. That wasn’t the case with the PAC network.

The PAC had no GOR, meaning that those leaving had no exit fees, that’s not the case for the ACC.

The ACC has financial ties to the state of NC that the state wont relinquish easily, this was why the state just passed a law that any state school leaving conferences have to be approved by state.

At the end I see them losing FSU and Clemson with exit fees. But I don’t see anyone else if UNC stays put being attractive enough to P2 and the value of going to B12 really aren’t enough to pay an exit fee.

We will find out soon enough. I think the FSU/ Clemson situation gets resolved by early 2025

ORANGEFIZZ.NET

Four possible schools have been identified as options for ACC expansions. How well do they fit in with the conference?

South Florida

USF would be a replacement, albeit a mediocre one, for Florida State if the Seminoles successfully leave the ACC. They pick up the number 12 Tampa media market, but are probably have the weakest overall athletics out of any possible addition.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
