B1G isn't desperate for another power football program. UVA gives them a boost in other sports. And OSU, Michigan, Penn State, USC, Oregon, etc., need to beat up on someone besides each other. And they don't need to "move closer to the SEC," they're already ahead of the SEC by a couple million per school per year.

If TV contracts  cared about basketball then the big east would be pulling in power conference money. Well thru aren't because basketball games dont generate the ratings of football . TV Contracts are based on the TV football game draws for  at least 99% of the contract.

Literally been saying this for months. It will be power2 over everyone else. They will put in as many b1g and sec teams they can manipulate in by using ranking systems. Could they get in if the committee deems them a top 12 team sure, but a team that an extra loss in the championship game from the sec or b1g will jump them if they have the same amount of top25 and more power5 wins.

The moment it went to a committee of blue bloods it was kind of over.

So, with the P2,

They will have two guaranteed champ spots (B1G and SEC).

And then, knowing the committee, they will take up all 6 or 7 At-Large spots. Maybe one spot for ND, Big12, or ACC.

But let's be real... Even if we make it to the ACC/Big12, we can't act like the Big East days. Those days will always be numbered.

Tweet goes on to say:   But don't get things wrong, folks, most of the ACC schools are not that far different than the top end G5 schools in many ways. Therefore, schools like USF would fit in very nicely as an ACC school in the new ACC era. Look at the Pac-2 efforts of wanting to rebuild. If they can't get into the Big 12, which is unlikely to happen, they have no choice but to become a "G5 school." The same will happen with the ACC schools that are left behind.

USF

Market Rank: 12

If the ACC would like to have a second school in the state of Florida after Florida State's departure, USF is right there. They happen to be in one of the bigger markets, are investing more in their program, and are trending upward in football under Alex Golesh. The basketball program is also currently in the middle of its best season possibly ever, as they sit atop the American standings. They are viewed by many as the next program to make the jump, and they sit right in the heart of ACC country.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
