The endowment gift can be given generally, for any impact the school may need, or very specifically as Mike mentioned, to endow a professor, coach, scholarship, entire school, etc

I can't remember for certain so not sure if the insurance policy we're leaving to USF is for an endowed scholarship for baseball or just leaving the cash to baseball. Guess I should try to find the agreement that was drawn up.

That's awesome. Thanks for doing that!

But we'll have an OCS so there is that.

We can just start a cult and meet there.

Hell yeah! Can do a game day eve shout off kind of like Texas A&M does. Hopefully USF will have plenty of tailgating space for the RVs. I’m probably going to get a smaller RV & work my way up once the OCS is complete. No sense of just staying on campus for one day. Will park that RV either Friday or Thursday and then leave sometime around Sunday…

That is a great question, and @John Lewis may be better to answer.

There isn't really an advantage when it comes to annual fund benefits. If @Triple B wanted to reap the benefits he receives with giving to the annual fund, then it would behoove him to maintain provide gifts toward that.

Your 4 points are very well stated.

Now, if an Endowment is created and that total of that and all lifetime giving to Athletics exceed $1 million, then the donor would be a Bulls Club Legend and receive every benefit provided in annual giving and some other benefits as well.

I know most will roll their eyes on this post, but for some it might be helpful.

Endowment is donated money that can never be spent. The university can only spend the interest earned on the endowment (they use a complicated projection system, so they know in advance how much they have to spend). Most donations made are not endowment.

When we hear the phrase "endowed scholarship", someone is donating big money, where the interest alone is enough to cover 1 student's tuition for the year. Like lets say I donate $500,000 for an endowed scholarship. USF foundation invests my $500,000 and earns 3% (they shouldn't be making any risky investments), then athletics would get $15,000 a year forever, to cover one student's scholarship.

I am a huge believer every year in adding at least $100 to the endowment, which is an extra gift, as it does not count towards your Bulls Club level, club access, or seat location.

Endowment money CAN be loaned out (or put up as collateral to borrow against), however.  Happens all the time at schools large and small.

Think this is what FSU will leverage for buyout from ACC if it gets to that point.

Don’t let Trip think he’s “endowed” or a Professor of anything.  His ego will get even fatter!!!

I didn't think that was possible but must admit that did pique my interest .....

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
