Fun conference realignment speculation - 

USF joins a new conference and is given $30MM more in distributions to expand our budget. If you are VPoAMK, where do you invest the budget? 

I'd do something along these lines - 

$6MM - Additional football coaching pool. 

$5MM - Build the baseball/softball performance facility (say $50MM facility, amortized at ~$5MM/year expense, so $5MM/yr allocated there). 

$10MM reno of the Lee Roy Selmon center (with no football, baseball, softball - keeping as single line item which will be paid for when work completed)

$3MM - all sports staff investment per year for strength/conditioning/nutrition/trainers/medical staff

$3MM - marketing for all sports

$3MM - additional facility maintenance and landscaping in athletics district

When the LRS reno is completed, that $10MM/yr goes into facility projects yearly (club refreshes, additional seats/expansions pending ticket sales, fields/turf upgrades, new equipment, etc.), either 1-2 big ones or a bunch of smaller ones. The facilities Friday posts over the summer will hit differently with an extra $10MM yearly budget. 

EDIT: Additional thought, carve out 1-2MM/year for recruiting analysts and operations staff for all sports (primarily football/basketball/baseball/softball).

Vandy is better than the big runner up Iowa though. They scored 24 points and let up only 48 to the first string team. Iowa let up 35 to a true freshmen qb taking his first start and he scored 5 tds. Vandy is never getting kicked out and is part of.the sec tradition. They suck for sec football but put them in another conference and they would be average to above average.
