OK, so exactly how much $ is there in the NIL $ / games played equation?

Let's assume Shedur is collecting $4.8M. At twelve regular season games per year, and one bowl game, that's about $370K per. Think about that. He'd still be collecting a ton of money if he sits out the bowl game. What about Joe Schmoe who is collecting $4K per year, he's only going to be out around $300. Think that $300 is a heartbreaker to a kid pulling down $4K to play football? I don't think so.  Why not forego $300 if you're thinking in terms of playing on Sunday.  And if you want to push the idea that they can be penalized for non-play...how 'bout I trot out a "mental health day" that coincides with the Del Monte Gillette Razor Inconsequential Bowl? By the time you've played your last regular season game, the NFL knows you. They've got a ton of data. Putting together a highlight reel at the bowl game is not really going to up your stock from what it already is.

Bowl games are great, so that would be sad.

All good things must come to an end eventually, something will take its place.

He'd be collecting regardless, so why didn't he just sit out once Colorado was no longer in contention for a bowl game? He took a ton of hits all season, so it would have made sense.

Prime taught him better than that, keep pimpin for the likes and remember that the world revolves around you so talk incessantly about yourself and hold your head high knowing that you can be named Mr, Obnoxious if you talk non stop ****.

In order for the ACC to survive at this point is to add academic based schools and accept the reality that they are not that far from being a G5 conference in terms of overall value to a TV network and also accept that the G5 schools like USF would be on the same level as the rest of the ACC on the football field.

The ACC will need to decide if adding Big 12 schools, USF, UCONN, and some western based schools over the next 10 years is a priority or watch the ACC wither away into non-existence over the next 10 years.

the same old guys that have made millions and millions for years without anything going to the players.....

laughable that people want to fine them or penalize them. how about you give the players that play in the game a bonus??

financial incentives go a long way in motivating people. just ask anyone that collects a pay check

I don’t care so much about the bowls, but I’m thinking about the fans that spent hard-earned money on travel, hotels, tickets, etc. and end up watching backups play in what now amounts to a meaningless game. If the players want to be treated like employees, there’s a penalty for not showing up for work.

I understand your sentiment however you can’t put the poop back in the horse.  The 12 team playoffs will destroy the bowl system going forward.  Once the players stop showing up, the fans will follow.  This is the beginning of the end and I have accepted that.

These are mostly made for TV events already.

Made for betting tv events lol. Bowl mania has been a blast thus far. I usually don’t watch bowl season if USF is not part of it or losses. So basically this is the 1st bowl season that I have paid attention to since the season USF beat Texas Tech in the Birmingham Bowi lol

True, but ratings will also drop once the players stop showing up. Who watched the second half of the Orange Bowl? First half?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
