There are so many reasons that USF is a great realignment candidate.  This isn't news.  I just can't figure out why we can't get this to happen.

CJS and CCS are a few reasons that come to mind, we have been atrocious, that matters.

I guess I'm not even thinking about potential.  I'm talking about tangible reasons that should be important but aren't as evidenced by USF continuing to be at the kid's table.

CCS had a winning record here which makes him the second best coach before this year so don't you dare be lumping him in there ..... bottom line, though, there's been no realignment decisions that have been made that those 2 coaches could have realistically affected one way or the other. CAG has just reaffirmed what CJL and Willie already showed on the field, football is totally doable here. If there is a next G5 call up, I can't imagine that many better candidates than us ...... geography may be the only fly in the ointment depending on who's doing the calling up.

Why did the ACC add cal, Stanford and SMU, but didn’t negotiate higher media contract as a result? It was stupid and honestly makes the conferences worse and worse for USF as well if we replace FSU. The travel is ridiculous, and the programs don’t add much in terms of viewership.

The ACC may not even have appeal by the time we get any opportunity to join it.  We have a lot of ACC fans on here that will stick with the ACC much like they have stuck with the Bulls.  But the ACC is approaching tinderbox status, imho.

I agree that the ACC is very close to the verge of death, but the remnants still look better than the B12. If the ACC dies the B12 can start the clock on their demise as well. There’s no world where the B10/SEC let them stay at the grownups table with Ok. St. and WVU being their premier teams. The tv markets largely include cornfields and the dust bowl, so there’s little appeal there unless cattle start watching games.

I’m not saying the same for cattle, but there is a DogTV.

Thanks Outlaw for the clarification.  If CCS ran the table his first year and we beat c and a NY6 win, could we have been called up if he kept the momentum, Realistically yes, so I will realistically disagree with you. Get real Trips.

Realistically, if that momentum included multiple NY6 bowl appearances, with a win or two sprinkled in, I'd have to agree that it would have made things very interesting if the B12 only added 4 ..... but there was nothing CJS could have realistically done, following the reality of the CCS era, in the one season he had before the invites went out to get us in.
