Would it be so bad if our association with those teams ended i.e., they split?  Seven teams out of 133 FBS teams have been ranked #1 in the CFP.  That is not even one percent of them!   Five out of the seven are in the SEC.  Sobering.

I think there is a lot of bias in the system. I don’t think breaking away will solve anything. It will only lead to more fracturing as the big boys want more and everyone else is forced to compete with less. They need something based on data, fairness, and that creates more competition. I can see schools dropping out of some sports if things continue down this path.

Disney (ABC & ESPN) and CBS have/had vested interest in the SEC doing well. Money driving things makes it easy to spot why they’re so over focused on and over hyped. They get a lot of resources. The playing field will only get more vertical for schools if this stuff continues. Saturday will be become more like Sunday and there will be less of a reason to tune in.

Interesting.  Thinks of the LHN.   Does Florida have their own streaming network?

This is why every conference winner should make the playoff. You can do rankings for Independents and the remaining teams. This will help spread the talent pool and provide more parity.

This is why this sport league is stupid when you really think about it.

I thought about this for us a while back.  Thinking we should start carving our own path to eventual subscriber revenue.  Right now we wouldn't have the eyeballs though.
