I think the past and present should be swapped places in this picture. We were halfway up the mountain  moving up and now we are at the bottom with a bunch of losses holding us back building the losing mentality we have seen strike again this year. We have to win games and build a winning culture back.

Basically I am hedging now for both USF & TB Rays. If USF & Rays win then that is great! If USF loses then Woody’s Curse keeps growing and the fan base getting stronger by character. Same with Rays If they lose then I can point to the Curse of Snellzilla and then the fan base grows stronger with character. They will build up an international following kind of like both the Cubs & Red Sox did with their curses over the years. USF wins no matter what happens on the field this weekend! Go Bulls!!

Not trying to be contrarian, but I really do wonder what qualifies as USF's "glory" years.

I was there. I collect autographs. After the game I was waiting by the press box elevator for Doug Flutie (who is a tough autograph). He comes down, I am the only autograph seeker there, he blows by me, won't acknowledge me. I start walking with him, and I used this line, "Doug, I'm a USF fan, I am going home heartbroken, at least let me go home with your autograph." He stops and signs for me.

The image of that rat **** Schiano sprinting down the sideline to yell at the refs with his stupid 🤬 playsheet flapping around behind him is forever burned in my memory and what I associate with the letters IFP.

In the era now where the Bush Push, Tush Push or Brotherly Shove (or whatever you want to call it) is legal, I would like to revisit the legitimacy of "Illegal forward propulsion."

We were 16-6 in the two seasons leading up to the decision. So, its not like we were bad.

All conference invites are based on potential. No conference cares about rewarding anyone for what they did, they only care what you can do for their conference in the future.

interesting that in our 9-2 season we played 4 current conference members.

regardless of why they chose us, we did nothing with the opportunity.

17-18 under Leavitt in BE and 5-16 under Holtz.

at some point potential has to be realized.

So, here is the history.....

We were planning on joining C-USA in 2001, when we went I-A, but one school blocked it, UAB.

UAB was bitter that they were made to wait 2 years when they moved up before joining the league, so they made us wait.

C-USA knew we we were planning on being in the league 2001 and 2002, so they promised to help us with scheduling, that is why we got some of those games.

(I know you aren't talking about the same games, because the C-USA games are different ones, but we were forced to be an Independent for 2 years due to UAB)
