They didn’t plan well and were late to the party. The Arizona schools and/or Utah would’ve made a nice bridge. Now they either have to look at lower level schools or leave those two on islands out there until they can peel schools away from the Big 12.

If we are stuck in the AAC the only thing we can do is suck it up, keep winning and built the OCS. If we do that someday we will get the call up. That and push Aresco to add teams that strengthen the AAC. UAB and UTSA were good adds, but some of the others we added was not based on performance or quality, but based on " are they located in a big city market". That was a mistake, but what's done is done.

Next time the AAC expands it should consider Air Force, Boise State, Fresno State, SDSU, Army, Marshall, Toledo, Ohio, Appalachian State, WKU, Liberty,... If they do that and we are in a best of the rest conference, the AAC isn't the worst conference in the world.

Also add VCU for basketball only.

If they’re adding 2 and losing 3-4 they could potentially add 4-6. Hopefully 6 and they back fill/fortify some of their positions on the east coast first. Florida as a recruiting ground and market make sense. Memphis and Tulane would still leave 3 open spots. Assuming they want to keep close to the Big 10 and SEC. They could add two more west coast schools and have one as a toss up. They might prioritize App State over Tulane or Memphis to stay in an established market. Who knows.
