Less painful, so it’s not all bad

Nah we will be fine as long as we continue winning. USF is in a much better position than Boise St and they are still fighting. USF has that TB market and a hell of a lot of positives going. We didn’t choke a game away after leading 35-7 late in second half.

Florida State and Clemson realize that staying in the ACC until 2036 will be a death by a thousand cuts while their rivals get an extra $30 million a year in television revenue.

Just my opinion, but this is 100% BS. Pisspoor management is their only problem. They have the donors to compete with anybody in the NIL.

After witnessing the surgical destruction of the PAC, I'm thinking that if the networks or other forces with power want to do the same to the ACC, it will happen.  Of course the situation is vastly different but it seems that there has been an agreed upon agenda by those in powers and it will conclude with superconferences.  FSU will be included.

OTOH, USF has options and needs to seize the day.  We have seen the light.  Win, build and be ready to claim our spot at the next level.

Don't disagree at all. Unfortunately our entire society is built on the almighty dollar. But, saying you cannot compete unless you're given the same amount of those dollars, again IMO, is BS. If that were the case then the entire G5 would cease to exist. The Rays wouldn't make the playoffs so often.

Pac 12 destroyed themselves. They turned down a $30m per school deal.

And yet, they still exist.

Based on credible news reports, it looks like neither the B1G nor the Mid 12 are changing their minds about including them.

If they win their court case against the (current) PAC, they'll get to keep some serious $$$ that formerly belonged to departing PAC members. Money that they could use to lure teams into helping them rebuild the conference.

Podcaster Trey Smith (FWIW) seems to think that if they do win their court case (as expected), they will not want to join or merge with the MWC because they don't want to associate with the bottom rung teams in that conference.

All signs are pointing to a PAC rebuild at some point. Not sure whether they'd have any interest creating an eastern division that includes USF, but regardless I can't think of a better time for us to be making noise in football...

My thoughts too.  Benefits us to be in the conversation and to be considered valuable based on merit.  Win and make noise.

The schools going to the BIG are going to make so much more.  And even those in the B12 will be making higher amounts.  Money, it's a gas!

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
