Why take these guys?

I guess it's about the assets they should have.  If the $$$$ makes sense for the B12/16.  But they'd better do it soon as those assets will dwindle and they shall lose their autonomy status and CFP spot IMO. 

What I'm thinking is that the two will spend all the money before succumbing to G5 status i.e., joining the MWC.

The Pac 2 would have an epic championship game.  I am guessing no matter what your record is you just play each other that year and get a gigantic golden trophy.

I have to give them credit for this Pac 2 approach, if they go through with it.  Rather than sit around and complain about what happened to them or the unjust treatment, they are going to squeeze it for all it is worth.

I like the idea of them playing as a 2 team conference; it makes sense. They can then keep the name and rights, take whatever MWC teams they want and if they want an east division, gives us another year to improve.

Yup... but the PAC 2 still gets a CFP bid, so you never know.
