Most people actually want their programs to be successful and they care about that stability and exposure far more than they care about continuing to play the same programs holding them back from reaching a greater potential.

Yes.  Our revenue is so miniscule in comparison that I tend to be more tolerant of taking on risk by moving to an unknown conference but with potential i.e., 2-PAC leftovers.

I concur.  But Miami is still considered a BRAND by some.  And they have the elusive AAU now.

FSU/Clemson pales in comparison to most rivalries I would assume. It was really only a thing in the mid-2000s because of the Bowden connection. And then they took turns beating each other off and on for the title of champion of the 6th best conference up until Jameis beat Auburn in 2013 and Clemson managed to be the one to finally knock off Saban in a title game. Their "rivalry" as it is is only maybe 20 years old? Everyone in the ACC was FSU's whipping boy until 2004ish, it'd be hard to call any of them rivals prior to that and Miami joining.

I see what FSU is trying to do.  Usually when they have dream seasons they end up losing to Wake or NCST.  If they can play some "big brands" only, then Kirk Herbstreit will run interference for them.
