Houston was rumored to be speaking to the Big 12, but that doesn't make much sense to me.  They need new TV markets, not markets they already own.

Not that any of this will ever come to pass in my opinion, but Boise to B12 would be very interesting.

 

It could get the MWC out of the deal that favors the Broncos and it might open the gates for that conference to expand big time to fix the mistake they made, or may not have made before. 

 

As long as we're going hog-wild with speculation, Boise bolting could finally bring about Aresco's vision for a nationwide conference.

 

But like Hem said, "Who knows?".

BYU and Boise don't bring the very things driving realignment: numbers. In that regard, the FL schools are the best option. 

 

The Big 12 needs to "buy" the future, not a hot streak (Boise). I can understand BYU (established, decent program) but the trend is population, and to move south and east (the Big Ten Network pres said so himself)

BYU would be good for numbers for ANY conference they join. Like ND, they bring not just a nationwide audience, but a world-wide one.

 

The problem is they won't play on Sundays. It makes scheduling extremely difficult.

I agree about the nationwide audience, but let's not get carried away here.  I think the no-play on Sundays is what has held them up from joining any new conference.
