One guy claims to be friends with a guy who is friends with Taggart who told him the Big12 called USF last week, but Willie wouldn't tell him any ...

1) Personally do not remember who said he has a connection to WT, but he wasn't one of our active active members. So I don't know exactly who it is and how valid their word is.

Not instigating anything with you, honest - 

 

But, what do you think this means? Lose who to what, exactly?

 

If say, Cincy, SMU, USF and Houston bolt, where do they go? Do they start another conference?

 

What guarantees do they have that what they start will be better than what they have now? Who else is there to align yourself with that offers value? It's not like if they leave the AAC, they will be snapped up by 'P5' conferences, right?

 

The only option I see is trying to join the MWC if they are taking on teams, right?

 

I'm having a hard time understanding what these posts mean. Please explain.

Who knows at this point Balto...I'm just the messenger with the latest twitter "rumor". UH and SMU won't have a shot in the Big12 as long as the Texas schools have anything to say about it just like we have no shot for the ACC with FSU and UM there. It's all about market share now.

 

UConn could go to the ACC and be very happy there

Cincy could go to the ACC or Big12

USF could go to the Big12

-but hey who knows, those would be my guesses as "realistic" options.

 

I am sure if any of these schools DO leave, they would be leaving to a better situation. We may rip on our admin department, but they aren't stupid. Nobody is leaving the AAC to go to the MWC, MAC, or CUSA. MWC has unfair money distribution due to Boise's greed, nobody wants a part of that either.
