and a debt of gratitude for that position is owed to Florida State and Clemson.  Remove them from the equation, and the scales might balance.

again fsu and clemson are not paying $300m buyout to join big 12.

acc even without them will be a better conference than big 12 in both academics and athletics.

I think this would be a good time to distance ourselves from the thinking that somehow the AAU is related to the football revenue stream. What matters is what happens on Saturdays in the fall.  Does the AAU make Rice, Tulane, and U of SF oh-so-desirable compared to 'Noles & Tigers? If the B1G had the option to take two teams from the aforementioned, who do you think would get the call? The whole 'but they're not an AAU school' means nothing when it comes to the college football industry.

No.  I don't.  I just wonder how things will change and if in the distant future the B12 can supplant the ACC.  It's fascinating as both conferences have teams trying to move up.  Not cohesive.

I just think the big 12 hype is a little overblown. they are essentially the teams nobody wanted from the old big 12, pac 12 and some aac teams that moved up.

the acc lost south carolina in 1971 and maryland.

the big 12 has lost nebraska, missouri, oklahoma, texas, texas a&m, colorado (once)

even if the acc loses it's top 4 to sec, they will be able to back fill quite easily and maybe even with some big 12 teams.

the power 2 don't  want anyone else from big 12 so I guess they have that going for them.

Pete Thamel on ESPN College Game Day says that change may be coming to the ACC soon.   Related to the three no-votes for conference expansion yesterday.   You think?

Thank you for the ESPN College GameDay update. Millions have been recently cut off from all ESPN programs thanks to Disney’s struggles

To be honest unless it has anything to do with AAC/Mountain West I hope any further realignment is held of for a few years so we can prove ourselves on the field and open a first class stadium.

Lets start today with what will be considered as an epic comeback of the USF athletics program. Win today, win 6 games this season, and we will do ourselves a lot of good when it comes to future realignment

I'm watching to see if we get any pub at all.  Well, watching while I do other things.  Also, interested to see if it's slanted coverage to highlight SEC and ACC (minimize BIG and other FOX properties).  So far, yes.  Talking ACC and SEC.

They did a feature on Prime at Colorado.

Yeah I don't see the big 12 as a big step up. It's a rich man's aac. Just leftovers of the pac 12 and big 12 that the real power conferences didn't want. Their best schools don't want to be there and will be gone soon, and it has no real identity.

ACC should always be our target.

But in the meantime we need to go independent to disassociate from these dreadful schools we are mixed up with now. Every season in the AAC playing North texas, uab and fau will lower us.

Should be playing an independent schedule of mostly 1 and dones away to big schools
