that could benefit fsu and clemson.

In the short term, uneven distribution would temporarily placate - not completely satisfy - FSU & Clemson. The ACC is, not unlike the PAC 12 was, on the clock.  FSU, Clemson, probably UNC & UVA are all casting their eyes towards the door.  The staff meeting is far from over.

For sure.  B12 has the geographical issue too.  I'm not sure of the validity of that idea.  But, then I've been surprised before.  FSU and Clemson aren't AAU.  Will that matter in realignment down the road?

he's just a wvu fan that thinks the big 12 is better than sliced bread.

ACC is worlds better in prestige (academic and athletic) and pays out about the same.

fsu and clemson would not make a lateral move money wise for a less prestigious conference. especially with a huge buyout.

the big 12 will go away before the acc does. they are just leftovers that nobody wanted from old big 12, pac 12 and the few aac teams.

again they would all jump at an sec offer. fsu publicly begged for one.

big 12 is completely different. they aren't going to pay a ridiculous buyout for the same money and less prestige. the big 12 is a step down from acc.

The B12 is still an autonomy conference, current P5/4.  If they can get it together they may supplant the ACC.  Do agree that many of these rumor-mongers are biased for their teams/conferences.  It's fun to read nonetheless.

I agree on this.  They want in the preordained Power 2 before the great culling.

I think this would be a good time to distance ourselves from the thinking that somehow the AAU is related to the football revenue stream. What matters is what happens on Saturdays in the fall.  Does the AAU make Rice, Tulane, and U of SF oh-so-desirable compared to 'Noles & Tigers? If the B1G had the option to take two teams from the aforementioned, who do you think would get the call? The whole 'but they're not an AAU school' means nothing when it comes to the college football industry.

so you think fsu and clemson will pay what is estimated to be a $300million dollar buyout to move to the big 12 for the same money and less prestige?

and a debt of gratitude for that position is owed to Florida State and Clemson.  Remove them from the equation, and the scales might balance.

For sure.  Still, if we're looking at athletics overall will it be a factor?   The Presidents make the decisions.

No.  I don't.  I just wonder how things will change and if in the distant future the B12 can supplant the ACC.  It's fascinating as both conferences have teams trying to move up.  Not cohesive.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
