I just want to say we've made big strides here recently... no one has suggested a package deal.

Tulane may get one before us. The ACC is going to have to expand west to make travel easier for SMU, Stanford, and Cal.

Are they going to take rice ,uab, Tulane, utsa, tulsa , and unt to expand west? Nope. I guess smu's athletic director has better acc connections and played a better hand then Michael Kelly and his "Acc connections" left usf out of consideration again.

9 years at $39 million is over a third of a billion ($351 million)

It's not $39 million ... it's $17-20 million.  The rest is from NCAAT and CFP money.

And their "actual" loss is $7-8 million per year from the AAC contract.

SMU will make more as an intern in the ACC than a paid member of AAC.

And the funniest part is one of the pundits wrote that it is turning into no longer offering a big payday to add new teams, it's now down to what teams will take the least - like SMU.  And he wrote that last week.  I might be able to find it.  It'll be the new trend and may impact us when we get a chance in ten years.   Last ones in probably give up the most.

So the game has changed again.

Yeah but I don’t think the big 12 was ever going to invite SMU as they pretty much have Texas covered. When FSU leaves the ACC I do believe USF will have both ACC & big 12 trying to lure them in. It will give USF bargaining chips. USF will be wise to hold out for the best deal

I can't wait to see what crap tactic school we add to this conference next. As it stands, I'm not driving 7 hours to see any of the teams in our conference in person. I just paid the 70 bucks a month to be able to stream the games and I had to ask myself was it worth it the whole time... we are truly in the worst possible situation from a fan standpoint. If we somehow go undefeated in conference, do we brag to our uf and fsu colleagues about it? Does it matter much in the Florida/ national landscape. Do we get buzz on college GameDay? I honestly don't know.

Aresco should be gone by the time the AAC adds another team. The fact that he said that he would focus expansion efforts on regional teams is worrying since we should be looking westward for any expansion.

Add teams in this order: Boise State, San Diego State, WSU, OSU, Fresno State, Army, Appalachian State, Marshall, Toledo.

it boggles my mind that Kelly and USF didn't try to stop the AAC from adding Charlotte, and North Texas

the way of the future. teams will get paid what they are worth. it will all depend on how many subscribers you can get and what price they are willing to pay.

it will be that way for everyone.

carriage fees are over. tv markets don't matter anymore.

how many subscriptions you sell will.

unfortunately I don't think our fan base is willing to pay all that much. we have people on here that complain about paying anything to stream the games and these are supposedly diehard fans on a message board.

Didn’t UNT make a bowl game last season?

I’m just following the dominoes. Seeing all these rumors that FSU is ticked off about the ACC. That is the domino that USF needs to fall..

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
