Take this for what it's worth, we could have made the exact same offer that SMU did and we would not have been invited. No chance that FSU would want that at all.

Didn't FSU say no to SMU too?

Starting to think Aresco was not what he was cracked up to be.

So who do we blame for SMU getting the call up?  Was it Bush?  Just kidding.  This is the part that I can't seem to come to terms with.   It sucks for G5 teams that want to move up.  SMU hasn't been great in the AAC but still offer enough "potential" for the ACC to include them.  Oh that and money.

I don't see a P2 rebuild happening. The best we can aim for at this point is a reverse merger that later adds 3-5 top MWC teams next year. But is Aresco up to the task? His (poor) decisions to add UNT, FAU, and Charlotte loom large. Not sure he knows what he's doing. And apparently on Wednesday he made some comments suggesting he's lukewarm about adding OSU and Wazzou.

What could he do? This is being driven by mountains of cash the AAC doesn't have any hope of matching. SMU has enough money to not even get any tv money at first!

I believe that would be correct based on what the vote was.

If we want to be in the ACC, then FSU will have to be on the move. I'm pretty sure that's been stated here on multiple occasions.

Looking like NC State was the vote that flipped.

A bad precedent has been set here if SMU is literally not going to take TV revenue for a period of time.

I believe Miami was a yes for this expansion. But they'd definitely flip to a no if USF was included.

I think in a way the ACC is smart.  Don't sit around and let them eventually destroy you.  But those team selections are weird.

It's weird that no one took Stanford before the ACC.

Yes i agree. Not sure we would get Miami’s vote but hopefully our old conference mates (UL,Pitt, Cuse) will put in a good word for USF

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
