The only reason SMU got in was because they aren't getting paid for 7 years....plain and simple.  We'll have our chance, but now was not the time.

Location played a major part. If SMU was located in the Carolinas or Florida, the ACC would have ignored them ....

Your characterization of the project is flawed though.

The first season a stadium has impact after that there is no impact, if we are going to this type of schedule and continue to be passed over we already have an OCS that will be plenty large enough.

I guess I don't agree that having college football games at college as having no impact to all the alumni that will be coming back on campus for the first time in maybe decades.

Did we make the offer though? UNC seems like they would have probably listened and they have some sway that could spark a compromise.

Then we had a path and we decided to fail, again. Instantly we would have excitement injected into the program, instantly we would become apart of the conversation again and instantly we allowed yet another team to pass us and continue to make us less relevant. The price of poker goes up in each round it does not go back down.

Look at the dropping numbers year over year. Now take the people that we have lost and replace them with even less relevant people, now do it again the day after the first game was played by the last defectors. Our new schedule would be lucky to draw 15k people, if it happens again probably 12 and if it happens again we already have that stadium on campus. Just check out the Yuengling Centre, facilities do not build attendance long term.

Just stop. It's because of "fans" like you that there's no way in hell we could make that offer ....

Did we make an offer to match or beat SMU’s offer? If so why didn’t we take it to the court of public opinion and even now that we are on the outside looking in announce to the world this is our price come and rescue us.
