No under no circumstance would I want to go independent. The breakaway would only be If we do it together with other teams in a coordinated way.  Not just AAC reams, but Mountain West teams, and possibly others like WSU, OSU,  and Army

That’s been the whole point of the doomers who understand this is the last, best opportunity to change fortunes otherwise USF will continue to backslide. But feel free to continue sounding like a clueless, elitist blaming the fans for not swallowing this **** sandwich that USF has been serving them. 

Actually, it's more a cult than a product. If it was just a product, this board would be deserted and John would have **** his wrists over Bulls Club donations and season tickets ...

... and I am not blanketly blaming fans. They have been awesome the last 5 years or so, everything considered. I'm specifically referencing specific "fans", the whining, entitled doomers who think it's our God given right to be in a P5 and threatening to jump ship if we don't get there ... don't let the door hit you if that's your true feelings.

As much as they've done to **** up college football, it's going to survive outside the P(X) like it always has and there will still be fans looking forward to the start of a brand new USF football season ...... no matter who the **** we're playing.

I don't  know if I am included in this, but so this board knows I don't feel that's its our god given right or that we are entitled to be in a Power 5 conference. In the end we will probably have to earn it like most teams. Still hoping though that we wiggle ourselves in the Maryland and Rutgers way, or that we join a new Pac that includes the best of the rest. When I criticize the AAC, coaches or our AD its always with what I believe is USF's best interest in mind, and always comes from a place of love for USF.

Whether we end up in a Power 5 or stay in a depleted AAC I will always be rooting for USF, following the games, and hoping for a better future. But when I feel that our leadership is failing USF I will continue to speak out. Loyalty to AD's or coaches is not the same as loyalty to USF as an institution. I will always stay loyal to USF and  be a fan of the team no matter where we end up

Yes, that's why it would not be a big deal if we had a few away games a year against teams located in the Far West. The benefits of playing a San Diego State or Boise State at their place would far outweigh the negatives. You beat a Boise state at their place  and it bolsters your end of year resume. The same cant be said when you beat Charlotte away.

The issue is more about your other sports.  Not football going out there once in awhile
