Now this is interesting.  What would those 4 be willing to give up to go to the Big12?  And the B12 gets PAC assets.

Oh come on.  This guy never fails to churn out elitist bullcrap.  They can save themselves if they would just work at it.

When I have tried to point out that almost all of the expansion is about acquiring name brands which the casual fan recognizes, I have tried to leave out something which is more to the point.  If you think that Stanford and Cal should be in a major conference, I cannot argue with that since they have been in one my entire life.  When you start talking about "society" and such, I will tell you what that means.  They do not want elite schools left behind with the riff raff.  The alignment is a process to weed out the undesirables.

And like most things made for filthy casuals, it will suck.

And that's why I think that the ACC is correct to nix this.   Teams in the ACC are at great risk for consolidation.  Maybe they are safe until 2036, but are they?  What if they bring on more mouths to feed and those teams supersede them?  That's happened to USF.

This one:

At the same time, a Sportico/Harris Poll survey conducted in wake of Pac-12 upheaval found most fans are fine with latest conference realignments.

I think that's 100 percent right that the AAC and Mountain West commissioners are acting for the benefit of all members and sole priority is to keep their Conference thriving and alive. But that's why it's my opinion that USF, Memphis, and  Tulane, and perhaps one or two others  should  break way from the AAC and start a new conference or join Mountain West/Pac merger. Our focus should not be the wellbeing of the AAC, but the wellbeing of our program.

We should not be looking at AAC commissioner to have our best interest in mind.

Then we should go Independent and pray .... or keep doing what we're doing in regards to the football program and hopefully be ready if/when there's future call ups. The breakaway conference, IMO, just doesn't make logistical sense with all the moving parts needed to be involved. That's not even taking into consideration the ocs being financed based on our current model ...

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
