Looking like worst case scenario for us is about to happen. Pac folds altogether with the two valuable schools to the acc. The remaining 2 probably recreate the pac as a best of the mwc to keep the branding. Smu joins acc. Acc gets more stable. Zero landing spots for us for the next 10+ years.

Seriously time to consider my proposal to shut the program down and focus on Olympics

I don't think they'd accept it regardless but we should absolutely be offering to play the acc for free for at least as long as smu is willing to.

Nope!  Shutting down is giving up which is a very weak thing to do…

We just squandered it at some point with not building the OCS sooner and our AD and coaching hires.

Now we can’t even get a ZJ from a toothless Cuban abuela

Being in the big east was a great experience for both football and basketball.  I knew the conference was temporary, but i never thought we’d ever get left back and even passed over.  Talk about unstable.  The minute Miami, BC, and VT bolted and the big east backfilled, it was already being messaged on espn that it was an inferior conference (I don’t think it was inferior, but that was the talking points). Couple that with the instability of having 9 teams (including ND) who did not participate in big east football.  It was broken to start with, but I thought we were in the club. Oh well.  Glad to have experienced it, and I’d take a similar situation over what we have now any day.

It will be interesting going forward to see the returns from AAU status vs what some of the top 2-3 conferences are making.

I would like the think than the AAU status blows away whatever they are calling the power conferences nowadays lol

This is why I say joining the BigEast was the worst thing to happen to USF. It interrupted the natural growth cycle of the program. It set unrealistic expectations for such a young program. Apathy has set in with the fan base and nothing but a Power conference is good enough. Solid programs takes many decades, some a century to build. We tried to make it happen in 10 years. Make the best of whatever situation you are in and good things will happen.

What a ridiculous take. We should have taken advantage of what we had.

What a weak mentality. Not going your way so quit.

The only thing we should be shutting down is the other team's offense. Time to get mean and nasty in the trenches again.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
