I can remember very few years ago when people were saying that playing ANYBODY in the AAC would not get anyone noticed.

NEWS FLASH! They noticed.

If the AAC remains as is, its still a nice conference, but I am assuming that SMU, Memphis,... possibly might be on their way out. The AAC cant lose anymore teams and still be considered the best of the rest.

With what we lost and the teams we added, I would argue that the MWC is indeed better than the AAC on the field.

In less than 9 years, and I quote, "Conference USA 2.0" has put teams in the New Years bowls regularly. Even made the 4 team playoffs once. Just as the end of the BE and the beginning of the AAC the teams that win will be rewarded. The others will sit around and woe-is-me till eternity.

We have lost ALL of those teams. The “others” won’t be woe is me because they will make more money in one season that we would making the CFP and getting blown out each time. We all know that the G5’s have no chance at beating anyone in the CFP, NIL will make sure of that. Even being a middling power team, you can still hit once in a while because you make enough money to get good players. The haves and have nots gap is growing exponentially right now and you can’t look at last year as a barometer for next year.

True, but Tulane is the only team left that has made it to a New Years bowl game. Cincy, Houston, UConn, and UCF are gone. SMU is as good as gone. You can only lose so many teams before your conference is on par with MAC, Conference USA, and Sunbelt.

My only point is we need to get out of the AAC a soon as we can.

I fear that we're letting outside forces drag us down and therefore any positivity dissipates.  I know I'm jaded and view things with bias.  I'm usually waiting for the other shoe to drop.  However, I want to look forward and take risks, especially if there are rewards to reap.  Maybe a merger with PAC2 leftovers and MWC teams is the best course of action.  We'll have to be road warriors.  Or if we stay where we are, that's OK too.  I can find some silver linings.

Where were those teams when the BE folded? Just because the improved enough to get the call and USF didn't is nobody's fault but USF. And for anyone to sit and think USF deserves anything because we were once #2, AAU, Tampa, or any other BS excuse is just being foolish.

Yes, I agree, USF needs a better conference. But, there is ONLY one way to have any chance at that happening.

This actually applies to the greater meta in the US/World.  It's a good approach.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
