We have been getting shat upon by the CFB gods for quite some time. Eventually they will run out. Perhaps they used the last of their inventory with the Clint Trickett decision. It's always darkest before the dawn, but it's been an EXTREMELY LONG night!

If they are dead set on adding 2 teams because of market it makes sense to add both USF and ucf.

If the CCG is going to be that important in the new format, I'd have to guess the Big 12 would want to make a decision one way or the other before the 2013 season begins, since the precedent has been set for teams to play one lame duck season then get out (at least in the BE)

I think Lee Roy would do a good job getting in front of who he needed to and selling the vision of USF, but I don't think he would cement USF as the must have candidate.  The substance has to be there and I'm sure Judy is selling it the best she can.

They would technically need two new teams for the start of the 2014 Season.  Nothing would have to be decided before the 2013 season.

 

I think the B12 might be able to get a one year reprieve of any requirements for 2014 if they had 12 teams lined up to start 2015

This is the same source that said Miami to the Big 12 was an unbreakable done deal. 

 

As much as I want to believe we are up next for expansion, I will file this in the fiction category and welcome the chance to be proven wrong.

If the NCAA is firm on mandatory twelve-team conference for a championship, wouldn't the Big XII weigh the decision of having to add two teams, and farther parcel out the folding green, for the sake of a conference championship game revenue stream? When I read this...

  I'm tempted to stop after the word 'happen'.  Is there a 'bust-a-gut' movement within the conference to have a championship game, or was it one of those 'it never hurts to ask' type situations, where if the NCAA gives the ok, it's all gravy or if they say nay, then we fall back to a conference champion based on record. It just seems to me that, by even bringing up the chance of going less than twelve, that maybe expansion is not as far up the agenda as we would like to believe.

Even thought it hurts whatever chance to join them, I hope they don't go to 12 and get their TRUE champion by everybody playing each other ...

If nothing else, it adds another game to the schedule. 12-1 looks a lot better than 11-1 when they're choosing the Final Four, right?
