I think the most reasonable is the 8 teams Stanford wants just pay the exit fee and leave, not complicated, PAC 12 just did the same thing.

I get you don't want it to happen. This isn't an attempt to convince you it'd be a good thing. But the exit fee would be made up for in just two years of more than double the AAC's revenue ($7m I believe). Travel costs can be managed with divisions and wouldn't be that much more than what we're already paying because the AAC is also very spread out. As for streaming only, I'd be very surprised if the PAC agreed to streaming only - more likely, there'd be some kind of partnership between Apple TV and ESPN based on tiers and marquee games. FWIW I'm not as negative about it.

Apple already crapped on a PAC shared media deal...could that change? Perhaps.  I also have serious reservations about $15M, the reality is it might be closer to $10M..........

I guess I misunderstood that tweet or whatever, but I read it as 4 teams would join the PAC and form an 8 team conference.

Me trying to follow all of these realignment theories:

If it happens, I guess we need Apple TV subscriptions for us and everyone single individual in our extended families.

Also, I think the college should bake an Apple TV subscription into the cost of student fees and give all the students Apple TV subs. Drive those numbers up!

I thought the crux of the Pac-__'s deal with Apple was that Apple didn't want to share with a network, they wanted the whole package to themselves.

Marinatto rode off into the sunset bitter as hell about what Pitt and Syracuse did.

It's not clear to me that that would still be the case with a merged PAC/AAC, or even a rebuilt PAC with AAC teams. But I agree with you that it would suck if USF joined and I could only watch them on Apple TV streaming and never linear.

Would it suck so much if it also meant USF was in a P5 conference with a CFP autobid making $15-$20 m a year, while we improve our athletics program and hopefully get an invite from the ACC when FSU leaves? Nah. I'd buck up and deal with it.

I mean, I would get the subscription just for the season. I have also never seen Ted Lasso, so I could finally watch that as well.

The way he handled everything it reminds me of how that big east commissioner handled everything. What ever happened to him ?

Marinatto got booted in 2012.  Never heard of him again until his death in 2021.

The problem is you'll have to subscribe to Apple TV, then also subscribe to the PAAC package, or PAACage if you will. I get the MLS and MLB TV for free through T Mobile, I wonder if T Mobs would offer the PAACage for free too?
