Conference realignment "Rumors" "tweets" "etc"

I don't want to sound like the "woe is me"/"sky is falling" few on this board, but the ONLY thing USF has going for it RIGHT NOW is the AAU designation and potential. Does that put us at the top of anyone's lists other than the USF hopeful? I think the longer, maybe this season, it takes to get the PAC4 dilemma solved the better. 2¢

I agree - the scary idea would be the PAC four raids 4 schools from the AAC, and we aren't one of them. That means our league gets worse and we stay. But I think that is less likely than a PAC outcome that either elevates USF or leaves USF unchanged.

If that does happen hopefully AAC adds a school located in Georgia. Maybe add Georgia State

Um, I understand this view point, but as a university goes, no. No conference would take UNT, FAU, Charlotte, Tulsa etc before us. The reasoning is they their growth potential is non-existent. If the PAC4 wants to rebuild, you build with schools that can grow into a legitimate team AND media. Nearly every team in our conference is behind us in academics, funding, enrollment, media market, AAU and reputation. This speaks to the potential as well as monetary potential of USF, that’s what you build on.

I was thinking the same thing. Good thing we also have the OCS coming. Perhaps, if at all possible, they should expedite the release of the renderings a bit. Another thing we have going for us is the Florida market, and the fact that when we were in the Big East that we held our own when it came to attendance and OOC; bowl wins.

 Minus the last 4 years we really have been a solid football program over the last 20 years;

If that happens the AAC should add Appalachian State, Toledo, Liberty, and Troy.

Not great, but those would be in my opinion AAC's best options.

I too can understand why he has that opinion.  Me, I look at it from a rational point of view and think USF proved, when playing a Big East schedule with many teams the fans have heard of while having a competitive team, they can pull in 40 to 50k on average a game. I would like to think that is taken into consideration along with the points you made.    Now, being considered and actually receiving an invite are two different things.  The only outright issues are the lack of a "name brand" and the distance from the Pac4. 

From an emotional point of view, it is frustrating that the two most active times in realignment happened when the football team was at it's valley.

The only reason I would not boo you off of the stage with this one is they were one of the original Sun Belt Conference teams along with USF.  I do have a small amount of magnanimity (small amount) for legacy type choices.
